Rafa hefur neitað að biðja Daniel Levy (stjórnarformann Spurs) [afsökunar á ummælum](http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=374217&CPID=8&clid=&lid=2&title=Spurs+report+Benitez+over+Defoe) sé hann lét falla varðandi Defoe og Cisse. Svo virðist sem umboðsmenn séu í raun ástæða þessa ósættist en þeir klárlega hagnast manna mest á því þegar leikmenn skipta um félög.
“He talks with the agents and afterwards he cannot remember, but I remember because I am professional and he is not professional. I talk with agents and they tell me a lot of things, but he cannot remember what was said. He must think about what he said to agents. That is all I want to say, it is very clear.”
Tottenham segir að þeir ætli að tala við The Premier League varðandi þetta mál og Martin Jol er afar ósáttur:
“It is unbelievable. It is bad enough when agents talk and spread rumours, but this was totally unnecessary coming from a club. I would never deliberately upset another team’s player like this. No disrespect to Cisse, he is a good second striker but we don’t need this type of player now, end of story.”
Og Defoe [segir við SkySports í morgun](http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=374246&CPID=8&clid=&lid=2&title=Jermain+planning+Spurs+stay) að hann vilji ekki fara og einnig er vitnað í Parry þar sem hann segir við BBC Radio Five Live að báðir aðilar vilja leysa þetta mál:
“We are in dialogue with Spurs, and it is an episode we want to put behind us and move on. I am sure we will do that. They are making the point they are not interested in our player (Djibril Cisse), and we not interested in their player – so I think we’ll resolve that one.”
